This house fire in Richmond, London was started in the ceiling of the bathroom and spread to the loft space.
London Fire Brigade (LFB) were called when a neighbour could smell burning. Although this is a private dwelling not forming part of the Regulatory Reform Fire Safety) Order 2005, it still goes to show the value of having a working smoke alarm (not known from report) and having an appreciation of how fire can spread from one compartment to another.
The cause of the fire was reportedly heat radiating from light onto combustible materials over a period of time....
